Teen Spirit Top in Brushed Tri-blend Sweater Knit

My second Teen Spirit Top is made of a bright coral brushed tri-blend sweater knit from Boho Fabrics.

Pros

The brushed back of this fabric so incredibly soft and cozy. It has a wonderful drape and it’s easy to work with while sewing.

Cons

I used this fabric in my first Skylar hoodie and the face has begun to pill as time goes on. It also has less recovery than my first Teen Spirit Top made of DBP, so the neck on this make is quite oversized. Nice for an off-the-shoulder look, but since it’s not cut asymmetrically, it looks and feels weird to wear it that way. This fabric also doesn’t cut as cleanly as DBP, so the raw hem looks a little rough in spots. I toyed with the idea of adding some kind of embellishment around the bottom (lace?) but I don’t have anything suitable on hand, and I’m not sure I love the idea.

All in all, this was a very quick sew and I hope to pair it with my second Riot Skirt on some occasion.
